Version 1:
Product Designer
Version 2:
Consultant
Kertask is a digital product designed to address task management issues in architectural projects. My role in this project was as a product designer, which involved developing the product concept, feature development, naming, tagline creation, and ultimately designing the high-fidelity visuals.
One story I can share is the origin of the name Kertask. The name was inspired by the traditional way we used to complete tasks on a piece of paper (kertas in Indonesian). I wanted a name that was simple, easy to pronounce, and memorable. I believe Kertask perfectly encapsulates the essence of the product.
Why are there two versions of the product? As the development progressed, we aimed to rebrand the product on a larger scale with more comprehensive features. Since I was the sole contributor handling almost all non-programming aspects of the project, I was appointed as a consultant to bridge communication between my office and the third-party vendor responsible for the implementation.
The biggest challenge in this project, aside from feature and product development, was designing the high-fidelity UI. This was the first time I created a UI design without a front-end developer to handle implementation. As a result, I had to ensure the design was simple, easy to implement, yet still aesthetically pleasing.
For the second version of the product, the main challenge lay in communication and aligning ideas between two different offices with multiple stakeholders. My role was to bridge this communication and ensure that all ideas stayed aligned with the core concept and vision of Kertask.
Both versions of Kertask have been completed, although they have not been officially launched yet. However, based on several tests conducted with our office partners, 95% of respondents reported being satisfied and finding the existing features and workflows of Kertask highly helpful.
